With more than 15 cars and a variety of different versions, the Lamborghini Huracan has a new "younger brother" with a strange name and performance even better than many million-dollar hypercars on the market today
Specifically, the Italian supercar company has launched the Lamborghini Temerario to replace its "senior" Huracan, which has been around for 11 years. As the third model to use plug-in hybrid technology in the Lamborghini product line, Temerario surprised many people when the manufacturer only equipped it with a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine.
Although it has the same name as the 4.0L turbocharged V8 engine on its "brother" Urus, the new supercar uses an engine with a configuration specific to supercars. This machine applies advanced technology and materials, helping to produce 789 horsepower and 730 Nm - significantly more powerful than the previous naturally aspirated 5.2L V10 engine on the Huracan (631 horsepower/600 Nm).
The car has three more electric motors, two of which are located on the front axle, creating a 2-wheel drive system for the car. When combining both gasoline and electric engines, the total output is up to 907 horsepower. This is an impressive number compared to competitors, when the Ferrari 296 model is only 819 horsepower or the McLaren 750S is at 740 horsepower.
Due to the electric motor, the weight of the Temerario also increased by 268 kg compared to its "senior" Huracan EVO, reaching 1,690 kg. This supercar is also 220 kg heavier than the Ferrari 296 - a supercar using plug-in hybrid technology.
Despite the increased weight, the car's acceleration is still impressive, taking only 2.7 seconds to accelerate from 0-100 km/h - 0.2 seconds faster than its "big brother" Huracan.
In terms of design, the Lamborghini Temerario has caused a lot of controversy among enthusiasts because the design does not retain the characteristics of the "Italian super bull" brand. The front of the car is simple but still has an air intake shape, integrating the traditional hexagonal LED positioning strip of Lamborghini. Above is a compact LED headlight cluster.
Inside the interior, the Temerario has the same design as its "brother" Lamborghini Revuelto, from the dashboard with a vertical touch screen to the start button with a red cover. The D-Cut steering wheel has a similar button configuration. The dashboard on the passenger side has a small screen for the person sitting next to it to observe the vehicle's parameters.
The battery pack on the new supercar has a capacity of only 3.8 kWh, so users can only travel about 3-4 km if running purely on electricity. The Ferrari 296 has double the battery capacity, so it can travel about 11-16 km in real-world conditions. It takes 30 minutes to fully charge the Temerario's battery.
Lamborghini has not revealed the price of the Temerario, but with the specifications and new technology equipped, it is expected that this supercar will sell for more than 300,000 USD (equivalent to about 7.5 billion VND), cheaper than the starting price of 342,000 USD of the Ferrari 296 GTB.
